Quick Answer

What is a mosquito misting system?

A mosquito misting system is a network of nozzles installed around your yard or patio that releases a fine, plant-based mist of insect-control agent twice a day, usually at dawn and dusk, killing mosquitoes on contact and creating a sustained barrier. Texan Mosquito Systems designs each layout by hand for your exact property, installs in a single day, and refills the reservoir every 60–90 days.

Why It Works

Engineered for the Texas yard.

Texas mosquitoes are a different animal. Heat, humidity, sudden downpours, and yards that mix turf, gravel, mulch, and standing water create breeding pressure that a once-a-month truck visit cannot keep up with.

Our systems are sized and tuned for the conditions that actually exist on your property, not a generic franchise template. That means more nozzles where pressure is highest, fewer where it isn’t, and a burst pattern matched to the hours mosquitoes are actively biting.

Quiet, hidden, automatic, and serviced by the same crew from first walk through every refill that follows.

The Build

A system, not a spray.

Anyone can fog a yard. We engineer a permanent piece of outdoor infrastructure, quiet, automated, and tuned to your property’s exact prevailing wind, plant cover, and gathering zones.

Every Texan Mosquito Systems install begins with a walk of your property. We map nozzle placement by hand, never from a franchise template, placing each head where actual mosquito pressure sits: under deck eaves, along fence lines, where standing water gathers after a Texas rain.

From there, we run flexible nylon or copper supply line through your beds, pre-program the pump for two daily bursts, and hide the reservoir somewhere out of sight, a side yard, a garage corner, a pool equipment pad. Everything is weatherized, timed, and silent. You forget it’s there.

What you do not forget: the patio you can use in August. The kids’ birthday party that does not require citronella. The dog who comes back inside without a swarm. Outdoor space, reclaimed.

The Process

Four phases. One crew.

Every install runs the same disciplined sequence, evaluate, design, install, maintain. No sub-contractors, no franchise templates, no surprises. The same crew owns the project from first walk to fifth refill.

PHASE 01

Evaluate

A licensed Texas tech walks your property, identifies actual breeding pressure, and emails an itemized quote.

PHASE 02

Design

Nozzle map drawn by hand, tuned to your wind, plant cover, and the zones you actually use.

PHASE 03

Install

Lines run, nozzles set, pump programmed, reservoir charged, most residential builds finish in one day.

PHASE 04

Maintain

Refills every 60–90 days, seasonal nozzle checks, and any repairs handled by the crew that built it.

The mist droplet is fine enough to hang in air for the active mosquito window, then dissipate, surfaces are dry to the touch in roughly two minutes after a burst ends. The standard concentrate is plant-derived pyrethrum, EPA-registered for residential outdoor use. Bursts are scheduled for dawn and dusk, when the yard is unoccupied and pollinators are inactive.

Twice a day on a programmable timer, typically dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are most active. Each burst lasts 30–60 seconds. You can override the schedule from your phone for parties, mornings on the patio, or quiet hours.

It depends on nozzle count and how the supply line routes around your yard. A 22-nozzle perimeter on a clean fence run wraps in a single visit; a property with multiple pump zones, gravel crossings, or a courtyard interior can stretch into a second day. We commit to a window in the quote, not a guess.

Every 60 to 90 days for most residential systems, longer if your property is small or your nozzle count is low. We schedule refills automatically and handle them on a route, so you never have to call. The same family-owned crew that installed it shows up.

No. The mist is so fine it dries in seconds and leaves no residue on plants, paint, stone, or pool decks. We tune nozzle direction during install to keep agent off pollinator-friendly flowers and edible plants if you have a vegetable garden.

Parts and labor are warrantied by the same family-owned Texas crew that installed your system, not a national franchise call center. If something fails, we diagnose, quote, and repair. No outsourced sub-contractors, no 1-800 phone tree.

Yes. Systems are modular, we can add nozzles, extend the supply line to a new patio or garden bed, or upgrade the pump if your coverage area grows. Most expansions take a half-day and are priced per zone.

Yes. We install, refill, and repair across both metros, Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, and the broader Houston suburbs, plus Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Fort Worth, Arlington, and the broader DFW area. Same crew, same standards.
