The standard concentrate is plant-derived pyrethrum, EPA-registered for residential outdoor use and refined from chrysanthemum extract. It breaks down in sunlight within hours and binds to the surfaces it contacts during the burst, so nothing accumulates in soil or groundwater. Customers with specific sensitivities can request an alternative botanical blend at install.

No, the nozzles are aimed and angled during the hand-mapping walk specifically to keep the cone inside your property line. We account for prevailing Texas wind, fence height, and lot setback before we ever pull a permit. If a nozzle ever produces meaningful drift after install, we come back and re-aim it at no charge.

Pyrethrum is contact-toxic to any insect in the active spray cone during the 45–60 second burst, including bees if they’re directly hit. We schedule the cycles at dawn and dusk specifically because pollinators aren’t actively foraging then. Within an hour of the cycle, residue is no longer hazardous to bees, butterflies, or beneficial garden insects.

No staining on standard outdoor materials, composite decking, treated wood, stone, concrete, powder-coated metal, Sunbrella fabric, or pool plaster. The mist is a fine droplet that evaporates within minutes. We do recommend pulling food, drinkware, and dog bowls inside the perimeter before a scheduled burst.

Yes, the same pyrethrum knockdown that handles mosquitoes also drops gnats, midges, no-see-ums, and most outdoor flying biters within the spray cone. It’s not a treatment for fire ants or ticks (those need a separate ground application), but for the full Texas list of flying pests, one system covers it.

The unit is a 30–55 gallon reservoir paired with a small electric agent pump, typically mounted in a side yard, garage corner, equipment closet, or behind a screened HVAC pad. Total footprint is roughly the size of a tall outdoor recycling bin. We pick the exact spot with you during the walk, hidden, but accessible for the refill technician.

A standard 110V outdoor outlet within six feet of the pump location. The pump pulls about 4 amps when it runs (under a minute, twice a day), so it doesn’t need a dedicated circuit or panel work. If your chosen spot doesn’t have power yet, we coordinate with a licensed Texas electrician before the install date, no surprise change orders.

No trenching, no digging, no plant removal. The supply line is small-diameter copper or PEX that runs along eave lines, fence tops, or at grade behind existing shrubs, fastened with discreet clips painted to match the surface. Most installs leave the yard looking exactly the way it did the morning we arrived.

For the first 30 minutes, we walk the final nozzle plan with you, confirm the pump location, and program the schedule together. After that you’re free to leave. We finish up, test every cycle, and text photos of the running system before we lock the gate behind us.

Yes, every quote includes a marked-up satellite plan showing the exact nozzle count, placement, line route, and pump location. Nothing on install day is a surprise. If you want a nozzle moved 18 inches left, we update the plan and reconfirm before the truck rolls out of the shop.

The system has an optional rain sensor that pauses the cycle when active rainfall is detected, then resumes at the next scheduled burst. Without the sensor, the cycle still runs, pyrethrum performs fine in light rain, though a heavy downpour rinses it off the foliage faster. Most Houston and DFW customers add the sensor at install.

Yes, every system ships with a remote (and an optional smartphone app) that lets you fire a 45-second burst on demand, plus a boost mode that doubles the daily cycle count for 48 hours. Useful for cookouts, weddings, kids’ birthday parties, or nights when you can hear the mosquitoes through the windows.

For DFW customers, yes, we include a free winterization visit each November that purges the lines and parks the pump. Houston systems usually run year-round, but if a hard freeze is forecast we send a one-page text reminder showing you how to drain the lines yourself in under five minutes.

Yes, every system is sized with 20–30% spare pump capacity by default, so adding six to ten nozzles later is a half-day job, not a rebuild. If you’re already planning a pool, an outdoor kitchen, or a new wing, mention it on the walk and we’ll oversize the reservoir on day one.

The pump, reservoir, controller, and remote are portable, we can de-install and re-install at the new property at standard labor rates. The line and nozzles stay with the house (they’re fastened to eaves and fence rails). Most homeowners leave the system in place as a value-add for the buyer and start fresh at the new address.
